Overview

Amritsar

Amritsar is a city in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab, 28 kilometers from the border with Pakistan. At the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is the holiest gurdwara (religious complex) of the Sikh religion. It’s at the end of a causeway, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar tank (lake), where pilgrims bathe.

Kashmir

Kashmir is the northernmost geographical region of the Indian subcontinent. Until the mid-19th century, the term "Kashmir" denoted only the Kashmir Valley between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal Range.

Leh & Ladakh

Leh is a city in Ladakh in the Kashmir region. It is the largest city and the joint capital of Ladakh. Leh, located in the Leh district, was also the historical capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh

    After breakfast, proceed towards Kargil. Enroute Zojila Pass, Drass Village (2nd Coldest Inhabited Place in the world), Kargil war famous peaks and Kargil war Memorial. Reach Kargil by evening. Check in hotel. Overnight stay at Kargil. Please Note: To cross Zojila Pass, Military declares Check Post time, accordingly you have to leave from Sonmarg.

  • DAY 10: KARGIL – LEH (Approx. 9 hours journey)

    After breakfast, proceed towards Leh enroute Mulbek (1st Century Giant Living Buddha Sculpture on Rock Mountain), later visit Lamayuru Monastery & enjoy magnificent view of “Moon land – An undulating series of mountains that resemble the surface of the moon.”, Magnetic Hill, Confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers and Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. Evening arrive Leh and Check in hotel. Overnight stay at Leh.

  • DAY 11: LEH

    After breakfast, proceed for Indus Valley Monastery Starting with Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism, Thiksey Monastery an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village, Shey Palace, The ancient capital of Ladakh, 3 Idiots Rancho School & Sindhu Ghat. After visiting the above places, drive back to Leh. Overnight stay at Leh.

  • DAY 12: LEH – NUBRA VALLEY VIA KHARDUNG LA (Approx. 05 hour’s journey)

    After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road in The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh). From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level. Evening you can walk around the tiny villages to see how the locals live in this part of the world. A visit to a Ladakhi home can be arranged. Overnight stay at Nubra Valley.

  • DAY 13: NUBRA – TURTUK – NUBRA (Approx. 3 hour’s journey one way)

    After an early breakfast, proceed to Turtuk (A village that was won by India in the 1971 war with Pakistan) and extremely close to the border. Visit a 16th Century Mosque, (comprising a touch of Turkish & Iranian culture), ruined fort of Dhards and Monastery. Admire the magnificent view of the famous K2 peak (The second highest peak in the world after Mount Everest). Overnight stay at Nubra Valley.

    After an early breakfast, proceed towards Pangong Lake. enroute visit Diskit – Future Buddha Statue. Pangong Lake is at an altitude of 14,500 ft and is World’s highest and longest saltwater lake. Enjoy changing colours of the Blue brackish Lake. Arrive & check in. Overnight stay at Pangong Lake.
